Sustainability Policy
As Crowne Plaza Istanbul Florya, we work for the harmony of blue and green, based on our motto of “A unique city-resort hotel that offers a privileged accommodation experience in touch with nature”, which is our promise to our guests, we adopt the Sustainable Tourism Principles supported by the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) for a sustainable world and we undertake to act in this direction.
Sustainable Energy: We minimize our negative impact on the environment with our systems that reduce energy consumption and increase efficiency, and our practices such as waste reduction and recycling. Within the framework of the GREEN ENGAGE program we are involved in, we regularly monitor and report our energy efficiency and carbon footprint and fulfill the requirements of the responsibility we have assumed. In addition, we encourage our guests to live a sustainable lifestyle by raising awareness with environmentally friendly practices.
Design Integrated with Nature: We built our hotel with an understanding that is compatible with the texture of the environment in which it is located. We continue our work to realize the architectural and landscape design of our hotel in a way that protects the natural environment. We shape our design to offer an accommodation experience intertwined with nature.
Support to Local Culture and Economy: Since we are located in the city, we consider supporting local culture and economy as a priority. We offer local flavors to our guests with geographically indicated products and products we procure from local producers. At the same time, we provide our guests with unforgettable experiences by introducing the historical and cultural riches within the city.
Training and Awareness: We raise awareness of our employees by emphasizing the importance of sustainable tourism. We encourage everyone to contribute to reducing environmental impact through various training activities and visuals.
Sustainable Purchasing: We remain loyal to the principles of sustainability in our procurement. We are committed to promoting a sustainable purchasing culture by choosing an ethical supply chain and environmentally friendly products. When evaluating the sustainability of products and services, we consider their environmental impact, social responsibility and economic contribution. We adopt an egalitarian and selfless approach in our supply chain in order to support respect for human rights and fair working conditions. We comply with the legislation and rules in product purchase, storage, preparation and presentation.
Human Rights and Equal Employment: We comply with the published legislation, regulations and laws regarding human rights, occupational health and safety, and information security in force in our country. We take and implement the necessary measures to provide suitable working conditions for our employees. While we respect the rights of our employees by providing good working conditions, we also demand the same care from our suppliers. We act with the principle of zero tolerance towards child labor, take a stance against issues such as gender inequality by supporting equal employment, and encourage diversity.
Sensitivity to Cultural Heritage:We aim to protect local values and traditions by approaching local and global cultural heritage sensitively. In addition to introducing the historical and cultural heritage to our guests, we also work to keep our values alive.
Social Responsibility Studies: We actively participate in social responsibility projects, aiming to contribute to the society building a better future. We run a variety of projects to support local communities, provide educational opportunities and support disadvantaged groups. Acting with social responsibility awareness, we strive to contribute to social development and an egalitarian future.
Biodiversity and Animal Welfare: We use fish in season to protect the natural ecosystem and prevent the destruction of the habitat. We feed and encourage the animals around us to protect their intestinal flora. We continue our cooperation with local animal shelters. We monitor the biodiversity inventory and protect endemic species. We avoid materials that pose a risk to endangered species, the welfare of wildlife and our forests.
